today (sunny)

Cold and rainy is my least favorite weather combo.  I can make the best of lots of outdoor circumstances but cold and rainy evades me every time.

So this morning when I pulled out my sunglasses for the drive to school, I knew it was going to be a good one!  We've had plenty of cold rain here lately, I was ready for some sunshine!

And the day did not disappoint. Oh I am so thankful for this day, this sun, this beauty.

Matt took the boys on a walk right after breakfast. Luke is a puddle magnet.  He never misses a chance to stomp.  Even with mud boots he always needs new pants (and often a complete change of clothing) when we return home!

Brothers in puddles.  At the park down the street from our house.

[As we head towards June 21 the sun rises earlier and sets later.  Life this far north has loooong summer days.]

Walking home from the park - our (temporary) home is on the left with the orange-ish roof.

And here's sunset.... same view looking west down our street.  Notice we are still waiting for some green to show up on those bare tree branches!  Spring comes slowly here, our lows are still dipping below freezing and the forecast is for a few possible snow flurries tomorrow morning (really?!?)

Not quite 9pm and the sky is gorgeous with color.  Our next date night Matt and I hope to pick up some dinner and drive west to watch the sun set over the prairie.

[The brick building is the med school, just a block or two west of us.]

I've really loved living so close to campus.  From our frat house neighbors to the students who walk past our home every day on the way to class... it's just a great spot.  The energy of a college campus excites me.

Abundant blessing - this house, this sunny day, these puddles, these mud boots, this sunset!

Fun times! Anything that has even a little bit of water is a magnet for kids. The sunset is nice. I remember the sun setting SO late in the summer in MI. Must be even later there.

Love those sunset photos. Great water puddles for splashing - so glad Jan and Luther got everyone books for splashing and walking in mud!
